Thank you soooo much for this page, I have CSID which means I can not tolerate starch, doc told me to go on a starch free diet, which is so hard to do.. but I use coconut flour, not almond flour, as I have hear some people react to almond flour too, the skin in almonds are starchy too, but im unsure if they use blanched almonds for the flour or if they use ones with skins..

    1. We have used both, and my husband doesn't have any issues with it, but I've have heard that the skins can be starchy also. But I don't have any experience using coconut flour, do you use it mostly in desserts or in savory dishes as well? That's definitely something new for me to explore!

  5. Excellent blog. Do u find that ur husband can tolerate some starches, or does he have to be completely no starch? I see you use Cauliflower, which I thought was considered a bit starchy? I've had Brussels test starchy too, but idk if they are "true" starch, like rice would be, ya know?

    Is he able to have any winter squashes? Do fruits bother him? Corn/popcorn?

    Trying to navigate this myself.... I have a lot of gut issues and it's hard to know what do eat, along with AS, candida, sibo, etc

  6. If anybody can suggest more starch free recipes or websites to visit that would be helpful. I'm not a big meat eater as well. I too have ankylosing spondylitis and I am sick of eating the same foods! Ugh!

  8. Thank you for these recipes. We have been modifying the Specific Carbohydrate cookbook recipes to be completely starch free, but get tired of the predominantly Indian cuisine represented. This is a nice change for us. Have to be off all nightshades, as well, so no tomatoes. :(
